Hi i have been looking for a cheap 2nd car for a new motor technician job im starting as i now need to travel 14miles to work soon. I work at a local garage at the moment and they have had a Mk5 2002 1.25 zetec ghia, one owner with 48k on the clock traded in. And will let me have it for what they paid for it £1200. I know that sounds a very good price but the bodywork is not great (dent in boot, numerous small rust spots on sills wheel arch and just under the rear lights)Oh and the front bumper looks to have been badly sprayed on one corner and has bad scuff damage (through to black). I know im in the trade but i just want some advise on if im doing the right thing in buying it??. Oh i all so forgot to mention that the interior is very dirty making you not wanting to sit in it. The engine sounds fine and starts first time but has a little misfire when first reved but then clears, so that might be plugs,coil,leads ect or just beacuse it has been moved around in workshop. Please let me know if i doing the right thing or is it worth holding out for a better one. I have pics but dont know how to post them on here, Thanks

The fact you are doubting yourself over the condition of the car sounds like you are not wanting it. If you did surely there would be no need to ask an opinion? Maybe better holding off, you never no what will come up :D I no with my luck i would buy it, then the next day see something better

Im one of those people who can never make decisions <_< and yes the worry is i might see something better the next day :o I will post some pics anywaym thanks for reply :D

Am i been fussy for £1200 Fiesta 1.25 Ghia 48000miles

i paid £2500 for a 2 door 1.25 freestyle, with zetec bodykit..

the rust is very usual mine has a couple of lil bits of rust.. but i dont think your being fussy you could probally get a bit better for that money :)
