Yesterday was a very long day for me i parked next to a s reg fiesta same colour has mine when i come out i put my keys into the s reg fiesta and it unlocked it opened the door i then relized the car was not mine after the alarm going of and thinking that not my alarm and then relized o crap thats not my car. so iam just thinking now how many cars are out there that you can unlock by useing your ford key its abit worrying has this could happen to me has well has everybody else surely ford should do something about this has its not safe.

wouldnt worry about it.... lock probably been rebuilt and a part left out pm me if you want more details

For reference, those "round" style Ford keys will ALL lock Ford cars with that barrel, but they certainly shouldn't unlock them! I remember my friend had an old Escort from 1990 that had the round key and it would lock my 1997 Fiesta Chicane as too, mine would lock his. Very odd.

although the locking seems 'odd' when you know the workings of how the barrel is made its straight forward.... I strip and repair them, but dont want to post on here for security reasons ;)

i know old clio's have this... my mate has a silver one and someone else does at college and he got in the wrong one, drove home then realised it wasnt his so took it back lol
