Engine malfunction light and limp mode

Featured Replies

I've recently had a service on my fiesta titanium diesel at a local garage.  A few days later the malfunction light came up and into limp mode.  Diagnostics at fords showed brake and clutch switch.  Replaced. A week later limp mode and light back on . Im told no fault found and when engine turned off it can delete code. Cld be one of 100 faults!! Intermittent limp mode but basically the car isn't reliable after a £600 service and another £250 at Ford. Plus another diagnostic test showing nothing.

I'm not sure what you want us to say? Are you prepared to do the work yourself? If so, you need to get a diagnostic tool yourself instead of paying Fords rates. Forscan on your laptop with a modified Elm327 lead is the best one to go for. Generic code readers won't pick up the Ford specific codes that Forscan will. You just have to catch it when it goes in limp mode before turning the engine off.
