Throtle closes to 70% after 6000rpm fiesta 2003

Featured Replies

Hi, ihave fiesta 2003 1.6 zetec engine on my car. I have now looked data (and do some dyno runs). After 6000rpm throtle body starts to close and power fels down.  Limiter is around 6800rpm.  Does anyone know how it can be modified/deleted.  I have asked some tuning shop but they cant help me..

My car is stock rally car so thats why i need high rpms.

Can't say I blame it.   I think your pushing your luck on a 2003 engine.

Fuelling is clearly at maximum before rev limiter cuts in as it should be. Looks fine for what it is: a seventeen year old engine. Moving the rev limit won't make more power. That happens at 6,000. Learn to drive faster.

Can't answer the question unfortunately but I think we may be missing the OP's point here. When driving in competition you may want to take it to the rev limit not to extract any extra power, but to avoid wasting time with an unnecessary gearchange.

Yes, that is correct. And if i have to change too early revs drop too low and acceleration is not good.  And i dont want increase limiter what is around 6800rpm. I vant that electric throtle stays fully open after 6000rpm.  And maby litle bit power increase if it stays open. (i think thats wy mixture goes too rich because not so much air..)  Like vedoe below when i go in finish i have full throtle but it drops..  ->
