Boot open warning lamp

Featured Replies

Just recently had the "boot open" warning lamp showing on the dashboard despite the tailgate being fully shut. Suspect micro switch on the latch!

Any suggestions and or is this switch replaceable?

Sounds right to me, no they're part of the latch I'm afraid.

Could also be the wires in the shroud between the tail gate and body.

Replies much appreciated - time to get the tools out.

Looking at the image, unlike the door switches (one of which I have changed recently on our Fusion) it looks like you may be able to access the connector and test the microswitch, or short out the cores going back to simulate the hatch being shut.
