Would a 2004 1.25 Fiesta ECU be capable of showing a P0217 code?

Hello,

Say if a rad hose blew etc, given the age of the car, would there be an overheating code IF the engine got too hot?

Is there also a safe cut out of engine in such a scenario?

Thanks

What an oddly specific question!

There is no safety engine cut-out ever.  There could be catastrophic consequences of the engine cutting out in the fast lane on a busy motorway at 70mph, losing power steering and power brakes as well as drive.  The fuel pump is only cut off after a crash impact.

Overheating should trigger a dash warning but not necessarily a PCM fault code.
