Steering noises

Featured Replies

Fiesta 1.2 (2004)

Hope someone can help me please.

My daughter has a problem with her Fiesta. The steering makes the occasional clunk/clicking noises and sometimes it almost feels like the steering gets slightly stuck.

She has taken it to a Halfords and they suspect she needs a new steering rack. They also noticed power steering fluid was leaking from the steering rack. Halfords are not able to do the work currently.

She has recently moved to South East London and we do not know any reputable garages in that area to get the work done.

Would anyone be able to recommend a garage in the Crystal Palace/Beckenham area to do the work, please?

Is there anything else we can check to make sure the steering rack does definitely need replacing, as I understand the cost of replacing this is not cheap and the car is probably only worth about £700?

Many thanks.

Honestly, any garage other than Halfords is more reputable...

I'd ask on a local buy & sell page on Facebook for reputable garages in your area.
