Noticed on my car that front lower fog lights when I have automatic lights on that sometimes one may be on whilst the other is not

They both work have tried, is this related to steering/turning etc

Yes, they’re used as turning lights so the one on the side you’re indicating towards or have the steering wheel turned towards will come on while leaving the other off.

Yes, the front fogs also act as cornering lights.
