Diagnostics rough price?

Featured Replies

Hi

My Fiesta (under warranty) is booked in next week as I have had an issue starting it recently so I presume they will do a diagnostics, does anyone know the rough price for one at Fords service centre?

Also if they find an issue, will the diagnostics charge be covered by the warranty and hopefully the issue as well.

I know if they don't find anything I will have to pay.

Thank you

Depends on the dealer £80-125 just to hook up,to the computer.

The warrantee should cover it all. Look in your printed warrantee and see what is and what's not covered.

should be free what's the point of a warranty if you have to pay for the repair of a failed component - not fit for purpose

Now if its wear and tear that's a different story.

Cheers guys, not sure where to find my warranty notes for my Ford direct car.

Also I can see why it could be free, but if I booked it in myself and they find no problem I can’t see how I would not have to pay.

As it stands the issue happened yesterday and today it’s been fine so far so by next week who knows.

What year is the car? Is it less than 3 years old?

If so it should be covered by warranty if any part has become faulty.

I am not sure about a used car from Ford Direct, exactly how much warranty they give if the car is over 3 years old.

19 plate, had it under a year so still has warranty, can’t remember if it’s 1 or 2 years warranty.

Should be fine for any required fix under warranty. Should not be charged for any diagnostic work either.

mines ford direct and has 2 years unlimited mileage warranty.

Any new car should carry a 3 year warrantee against any fault, covering diagnostics, parts and labour and possibly a courtesy vehicle.
