Replaced engine now can't find what this ground wire is for. Mk6 fiesta 1.6 tdci

Featured Replies

I've almost finished swapping a seized engine with a newer engine on my 2005 fiesta zetec s, but during the middle of the swap I had a hernia op and had to take a big break. Consequently I've forgotten a few things but managed to figure them out along the way. I can't figure this one out though!

There's an earth cable bolted in behind the ecu/under the battery tray kind of area. There's a cluster of earth cables here but I've included a pic of the one this post is concerned about. It was never unbolted from the chassis and it wants to go towards the headlight area by the way it's held, but I can't find anywhere on the headlight assembly for it to bolt in and I'm not finding anything in my Haynes manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Also does anyone have any idea where the connection with the blue release thing on it (can be seen in the photos) sits? Or does it just dangle above the gearbox. Thanks again for any help!

For anyone reading this with the same issue, I've just discovered it attaches to the gearbox at the top

  • 11 months later...

Where about on the gearbox does anyone have any pictures
