Sync not working after a flat battery

I have a 62 reg Ford Fiesta with Sync. My battery was flat this morning, the garage replaced it but now Sync is being weird. I tried factory reset and master reset already. Normally I press a button on my steering wheel and it says “Sync - please say a command”. Now that same button just lowers the volume.

none of the other steering wheel buttons (such as skip to the next song etc) work. Only the Volume controls.

i don’t want to take it to the dealer because they may charge a fortune.

 

also the Stop/Start stopped working last year. The AA said It was due to the battery being faulty but it still doesn’t work.
