Hi, in need of some advice please. I purchased a Ford Fiesta Mark 6 56 plate for my son. We have discovered that the seat tilt handle is broken. We have tried to replace it but the handle does not pick up the metal bar! Do we need to replace the plastic post the bar rests against? If so does it come when purchase new cables or where do we purchase?  Also should the chair slide forward when the back of seat is tilted forward on a 3 door car? Both front chairs slide if using front under seat bar but I thought they should slide when back of chair is tilted to allow rear passenger to exit🙁This is my son's first car and I'm worried I've purchased a lemon😕Any advice greatly appreciated.

Not exactly a lemon if it's just seat tilt issue. Grab the "metal bar with a pair of pliers and pull. This will check if the cable is ok or broke. Pulling it should tilt the seat then when seat is tilted it should slide forward. Try both seats . 

The seat cable comes with the black plastic post.

Thankyou. Do you know if the seat should tilt and slide on all models please? I think it did on my couple of previous fiestas- S and D reg (Showing my age😁) But son thinks the don't all do that...but if three door I say they should but what does mum know against a 17year old😁😁

All 3dr fiestas will have tilt and slide.otherwise it would be tricky to get in and out of rear seats. Would be no point in a handle on the top of seat. Lol 

It is common for the cables to snap where they fit at the tilt mechanism on each side of seat.
