hlewis90
Can anyone suggest what might be wrong? I’ve noticed a high pitch what I can only describe as a squeaking/screeching noise from the left hand passenger front side of the car whilst driving, had break pads done around 3 months ago, and Doesn't happen when breaking only whilst driving. Any ideas?
TomsFocus
If it specifically stops while braking then it probably is the brakes causing it. My guess would be pads vibrating in the carrier while they're 'loose' and then the noise stops when they're put under load. I can't remember whether the Mk7 has anti-rattle pad shims or not, but if not you can add a bit of CeraTec (or copper grease if you're old school) to the touch points between the pad and carrier. hlewis90
Thanks for Your reply, it dosent specifically stop while breaking but it’s more noisy whilst I’m driving, it seems the faster I go the more it makes the noise? Hope that makes sense

Stoney871
Unless you cut their seatbelt and switch off their airbags. [emoji1]Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
iantt
Probably a stone stuck in-between the brake disc and the back plate, or even the back plate bent and touching the disc.
