Galaxy unable to get good brake pedal

Featured Replies

It might be getting stopped by a firewall or anti-virus software?

This download is now working ok.

No idea why it was not working before.

Hi Everyone,

Ok. I have now downloaded the VCDS- Lite software and got it running ok in the shareware mode.

The functionality is ok for reading of fault codes and doing basic tests but I am unable to do an ABS Service Bleed without registering with Ross Tech and paying  about £90. This seems an awful lot for what I intend to do and even if I do register it is only registered on 1 PC and you can only transfer it to another PC once. Also they don't guarantee you will get the full functionality when using 3rd party cables.

Taking the above into account, I don't think it is worth it and will contact a local engineering firm I know who deal with these kind of problems.(have help me out before with airbag problems etc.)

Pity VCDS software is not as good as Forscan (at least they give you a few months free trial).

The upside is I have learnt a lot and I hope my experiences help some others on the forum.

All the best

NB. Another thing I found out is that the Mk1 and 2 Galaxy's with diesel engines use all VW protocols but the petrol models which have Ford engines use Ford protocols for the Engine management and VW protocols for all the anciliary kit.

Another reason for not buying the VCDS registration as it can't help with engine management problems on my petrol 2.3?

Richard

If you know where to look you can buy full VCDS clones for about £40. :ninja:

Just have to make sure you never try to update them or Ross-Tech come round and smash up your laptop.
