Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm a newbie to the forums so hope it's posted in correct place. Wondering if anyone can please point me in right direction for Best Rear tail light bulbs for my Mk2 Focus 59 plate. Preferably ones that people have actually used. I've just ordered the Philips White Vision Ultras for my Headlights but can't seem ti find any proper info on Rear lights. Any help would be greatful. Thanks

What is actually wrong with those fitted, and how do you want to improve them ?

I cannot recommend any in particular, as I tend to stick to standard bulbs but ABD have lots on offer and do a vehicle look up using your registration

After a long search I found you need 567 bulbs with offset pins. Not many places seem to stock the off set pin type bulb, I eventually found an eBay seller called Ignitionline that sells them in a box of 10 for under £10. I have them in my 2010 Focus

It's eBay item number: 123126490572

Odd request, I have never driven a car thinking, "gosh, I wish those rear lights were stronger!" Now, front lights I have changed to death over the years seeking better. Unless you are driving a 1950s Morris Minor, rear lights on modern cars are pretty good at showing what the driver is up to!

There's really no need to change tail lights, the Mk2 lights are huge.  You could upgrade to the LED rears instead which look much better...  People call them 'RS lights' but they also came on anything with the Xenon headlight option...such as my own Mk2.5 Titanium.

Tom, just curious - do you know if the lights you pictured are interchangeable with the older Mk2?

Yes, they are.  They're not quite plug and play though, you do need to make a slight wiring alteration.

How 'slight' LOL

Just need to chop the plugs off and solder in the later ones...  From reading previous posts on here, I'd say it's something you'd be more than capable of!

There are guides on here for doing it though it's one of the few Mk2 mods that I've never done myself lol.  The guide below is a bit more complicated than it seems as it uses the standard Mk2.5 lights, not the LED ones, which is why he needs to add additional LED strips.  The basic idea is there though!  The facelift lights are easy to tell apart as the standard ones have a honeycomb lens whereas the LED ones have a striped lens.

I fear you drastically overestimate my abilities 😂
