Clicking/ light grinding noise from engine.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have an ongoing issue, There is a noise which is like a clicking/ grinding when i go around a right hand bend at about 50 mph, it happens at the same bend every night coming home from work, I have had it checked by two garages, the first changed my front brakes and discs and the second garage could not find any problem, yet the noise continues. on one particular corner it was a prolonged 'screech for about 3 seconds, this was before getting it checked by the garages.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Chris.

Tight bend? sounds like a driveshaft joint phenomenon known as "Knock on lock." It is quite common and unless it is very loud and accompanied by vibration it is unlikely to be something that will suddenly fail. Check by driving slowly at full lock in each direction forward and reverse.Left hand joint if it is a right hand bend will be under the most load.
