PCM update?

Featured Replies

Hi

My fiesta had a PCM update yesterday, I originally took car to Fords to check a problem with starting engine, but its been fine for a week or so and engineer could not find any issues, but he did a PCM update, firsta is a 19 plate mk8 which I have had for a year and purchased from ford (Ford Direct). I gather the car may never had a PCM update before so likely needed one.

Can anyone tell me what the update does or could potentially do?

Also since this update I noticed when I picked car up from garage, when I pressed power to turn on accessories, the engine light went solid as it should do, and then started to flash 6-7 times before returning to solid, I then started car and all lights on dash went out.

I don't think this is anything to worry about unless it comes on when i'm driving, just curios as to why it would flash, and if its linked to something the PCM update did.
