Mk5 Steering Makes Grinding/scratching Noise.

Featured Replies

My fiesta seems to have developed an annoying grinding noise when I turn the wheel, it sounds like plastic scraping together. It doesn't seem to affect the steering in anyway, it's just annoying. Whats the likely culprit? Thanks!

You mean the steering wheel itself or something to do with the steering?

If its the steering is it more in one direction that the other? And how loud? =]

its in any direction. its not that loud but its definately noticable... perhaps even stranger is that fact it's somehow fixed itself and stopped making the noise now...

If it's a light scratching noise when turning the wheel. Mine had the same problem. Does it sound like it's coming from the ACTUAL steering wheel? Because mine did that. Then just stopped o_O Just assumed something had become wedged behind the steering wheel ^_^
