I have had a heads up on my MOT  that the Alternator belt is splitting  Is that one belt for all pulleys steering , water pump Are there any guides on here on what is the best way to tackle the job, thanks

    Which engine is it for?

    I see you've previously mentioned a 1.25, so if it's that, there are 2 auxiliary belts and they are stretch belts.  No tensioner to loosen, just cut the old ones off and then gently force the new ones on.  You can buy a stretch-belt tool to help get the belts on but I've always managed it carefully with a thin screwdriver.

    You might be able to do it from the top but access is tight on the Fiesta.

    There are still 2 belts for AC models, but one is longer to go around the AC compressor.  You'll need to double check that you're buying the 'plus AC' belt when buying.

    Do you know if the cambelt has been changed?  I'm just thinking if the aux belts are past it, the cambelt may be over due?  People generally fit new aux belts at the same time as a new cambelt.
