Owners manual hard copy

Featured Replies

Hi I’ve just joined glad to have found this site. I’ve just bought a Ford Puma mild hybrid titanium but it doesn’t have a hard copy of the owners manual!. I phoned the garage where I bought it and was told they no longer do them as it’s all on line. Is that correct as no book even to stamp the services, would really rather have a hard copy

thanks julie

got told the same last month when i was sorting a new fiesta out

The garage is right. You can either view the online owners manual here

https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/my-vehicle/download-your-manual

Or you can download and register on the ford pass app which shows the manual.

Services are no longer stamped in a service book . But all servicing by ford is now held digitally.

That's the same with my parents Skoda Fabia. That one (bought 2nd hand from dealers) did not come with a service book. If the car is serviced by the dealers, then there's no problem.  If people (like us) get it serviced by an independent or small family run garages who don't have access to the database, service records may not be kept. Selling a car without a full service history may effect the price. Would you buy a car without a service history?

Thanks, wish they still did it the old way. So much easier. What about the older generation who don’t even know how to use a mobile phone properly 🙁

The online servicing thing just means the amount of cars that will be sold with no or partial service history has gone up sevenfold.

Not entirely sure why you've just copied and pasted what I just said then included a link to an Internet speed test at the end??

The Ford website (not 100% reliable as we know!) still has this:

How can I obtain a new Owner’s Manual?

All new Ford come with an Owner’s Manual. Speak with the Sales Team at your Dealer if you don’t have one included. If you have misplaced your manual, or have purchased a previously-owned Ford without one, you can buy a Manual for a small fee online. Buy a new manual here

Given that we have to suffer an online manual at least they could do is customise it to your specific model, (databases are good at that sort of thing!) rather than sift through all the options in the same document.  Lhd/rhd; auto/manual; 4”/12” screen; engine size, trim ... on and on.  Instead of 571 pages, it could be cut back to less than a hundred.  Much easier to load and search on a phone/tablet.

Cheeky, some of us pensioners can not only use a mobile phone, we can write "nested ifs".....
