Random unlocking and locking all doors whilst driving

Featured Replies

Hiya

Sorry to bother you guys but my chaps  fiesta is doing my head in!!

Driving along the car suddenly throws a tantrum and keeps locking and unlocking ALL the doors I presume it's a grounding issue but where....help??? TIA

It could be one of the switches inside one of the door latches getting a false signal that you are locking the doors.

You could try lubricating the mechanisms

If its an earth issue which can cause loads of other problems too it will be from battery to chassis or engine/gearbox as these tends to be the only areas grounded. I would think you would have more problems than central locking if this was the main cause. All circuits tend to be earthed to chassis so check for corrosion between Doors and bodywork or as mentioned above relays and switch failures.

Honestly no other issue and it only does it every now and again as we are driving along... quite peculiar
