Fiesta Mk6 - help with fixings

Featured Replies

Hello

New to cars, this is my first, but come from a family who always fixed little things themselves on cars so keen to have a go myself.

I’ve inherited a beat up Mk6 5 door. It’s missing the rear door pillars which I’ve found on eBay for about £15 each, which seems reasonable. The rubber sealing around the doors is also loose and flaps about. The passenger wing mirror cover is off, including the bit which covers the swivel mechanism.

I am hoping that these are problems that other people have encountered and could perhaps help with advice.

Will I need any specialist tools to put the pillars covers on?

Should I simply glue the rubber seals back in place? If so, is there a glue which you’d recommend?

I have found a replacement wing mirror, panel included, for £16 on eBay also. Are these hard to fit?

The car passed its MOT in April with no faults so the actual car itself is sound, it just looks pretty rough around the edges at the moment 😂

There’s a lot of tree sap on the paintwork which hasn’t come off with multiple washes. I’ve seen car clay, would you recommend?

Many many thanks for any replies!

I am not sure how they were fitted on Mk6 but on Mk7 and 7.5 the rubber trim doesn't need to be glued, it just pinches around the pinch welds on the door frames
