S-Max Engine Cutting Out

Featured Replies

I have a 2009 2ltr diesel S-max. The engine has cut out on me several times as I have been driving. The engine feels like it jolts, then the stability control light on the dash comes on. The engine then loses all power.

I have taken this to the garage once & they said it was an electrical problem with the cam belt which they claimed to have fixed.

However a couple of weeks later it has done it again.

Has anyone else experienced this or do you have any ideas on what it is?

I am now scared to drive it on anything more than very short trips.

Thanks

i think it sounds like you might have a problem with your ignition coils.

does the car feel like its hesitating or stuttering?

Yes it does seem to stutter or jolt quite often. It doesn't always cut out.

Thanks v much for the insight. I am taking it back to the garage again tomorrow so will put this to them.
