My sync 1.0 flickers

Featured Replies

I recently discovered while driving that my radio screen started flickering, but i don't know why, the car its in is a 2013 mk7.5 fiesta with parking sensors. Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like a possible loose plug see if it only does it on uneven road surfaces. Eliminate that first otherwise dare i say it faulty screen.

It literally only started doing it today, and it will do it with the car just sitting and idling at. Traffic light or just being stopped in general

The plug could still just be loose. loom/switches/fuses caught by passenger possible as control box is under glovebox.

It's unlikely seeing as it's only me in the car also in the past almost 8 years of its life, it has never had the radio wiring touched since the factory

Okay so there is some slight seriousness to this post, but does hitting it make any difference?

as far as i can tell, it isn't a loose connection, seeing as it is flickering the same amount whether, i am driving, stationary with or with the engine running and hitting it or tapping it makes no difference

Think you are going to have to take it for diagnostics.😢

The issue is I am sure it won't be throwing a code and at the moment due to need to use the car at a certain time I won't be able to take it to a ford dealership to get it fixed if they will even work on my almost 8 year old car

Yes diagnostics won't show anything. Seems like you may have a failing screen tbh. For the sake of the cost of a second hand unit on ebay I'd give that a go. It will certainly be cheaper than paying Ford for an hour of their time to look at it lol.

I will give that a go but i have also experienced it freezing up which also started at the same times as the flickering, and the fact that radio isn't having to do much other than cope with a Bluetooth connection its a bit odd

I have noticed my headlights have also started to Flicker with all the electrics on in the car, (radio, heated front and rear windscreen, heater full blast, ac on, and dipped beams, and both fog lights) i am starting to wonder if my alternator is going out

could well be as simple as bad earth with the cold damp weather exacerbating the problem.

what earth would i check that affects both the dipped beam and the radio but nothing else?
