I'm having a nightmare with my 2016 ford connect heated windscreen not working.

Iv stripped the headliner off and found two earth straps that have been cut??

    Looks like the windscreen has been replaced with a non heated one.

    Can you see fine lines in the screen?

    The strips should go to the top of the screen.

    The windscreen is definitely a heated on because it has the black heating element all around it.

     

    So they should stick onto lines at the top of the windscreen?

    I still din't reckon it's the correct screen, having a black border is no indicator, you should be able to see very faint wiggly lines in the glass itself.
    Other way to check is to look right at the top of the screen to see if the contact stubs are there.
    Even if they are I don't think it is as simple as resoldering them to the ribbons.

    The black suround isn't the heating element. I agree with Clive that it's had a non heated screen fitted at some point.
