Fuel loss

Featured Replies

Hi.

I am driving a 2006 1.4 tdci fiesta and am having some really bad problems with the millage, I have recently had fuel filter changed a new injector and had a diagnostics check on it with no faults but have currently used 3/4 of a tank and only got 230 miles out of it.

Am now out of idea what problem could be as can't see any fuel leaking from anywhere and don't want to take it to garage unless I really have to... Any ideas please I thank you in advance

What journeys are you doing on I long run I can get 60mpg - recently with the lockdown i'm getting 30mpg.

Well  I've owned my Fiesta Vignale 2019 Ecoboost 1000 125 Petrol since September this year, and really fed up I haven't been able to take her out on a long run yet due to lockdown.

So been doing lots of short journeys max around 12 mile round trip  but on average just to shops approx 4 mile stints.

When I first got the car I was averaging around 38mpg

But then I discovered the Eco button, and now get 42mpg all according to my Fordpass app.

To be honest I have found the fuel consumption a little disappointing  I am driving very carefully, as this is the 1st car I have had to buy  now I am retired, previously had 44 years of non stop company cars.

I know yours is diesel and mine is petrol, but thats my input anyway 🙂

Under lockdown I'm only getting 36 mpg at the moment.   Usually well over 40.

Any smoke or power loss?  Even with short journeys that's bad for a 1.4 TDCi, works out as roughly 35mpg!
