Popular Post The Finance Guy
Just got the keys to my new unit so I can start filling it with stuff! I have mentioned here before that I do a bit of powder coating for my own stuff just out in the shed but wanted to have a go at doing it on a commercial scale. I have a lot of contacts in the machinery trade etc and an interest in cars and bikes so it makes some sense to me. My oven is being built right now and I don’t know when it will arrive...but here’s the space as it is now still empty. I will update this thread with progress and let me know your thoughts of course.

stef123
Go for it mate, started my business just over a year ago now and never regretted it. Once you are up and running, I presume you will be doing powder coating on wheels? If so I may be interested in keeping in touch to send some business your way now n again. Currently don't have a trust worthy powder coating firm. Last one has recently moved premise near Edinburgh, you may know who I mean. Last customer was far from impressed with the quality of his work after a few months and I don't blame them, so that's the last one for me. p.s same day turn around is a great luxury lol. All the best.

All the best. Hi Stef Yes I will be doing wheels. I probably won't do the fancy FX colours that the other lot you refer to focus on, but I will be concentrating on a good finish that lasts forever...with wheels you don't really want repeat business I guess! Same day turnaround should be fine too. Keep in touch mate - I've not forgotten that you offered a shot of your lift when I was having issues with the brakes on the Ranger so I'm keen to help you out for sure. The Finance Guy
Motorbike lift is getting delivered today (a bit of an extravagance probably), and I've ordered 200 litres of acid and a dip tank... Also coming soon a new sandblasting cabinet, a big tool chest and a new air compressor. Still trying to decide if I need to get a tyre machine or if I can get away with taking wheels to my local guy to whip tyres on and off....
The Finance Guy
Tyre changer is in. Dip tank. Motorbike lift. To be unpacked: tool chest, sandblast cabinet and new compressor. It’s the best Christmas ever!!

I only look after 2 bikes at present lol. What are you using extraction wise for the blast cabinet? I'm in the process of doing a midlife upgrade on mine lol. 3d printed a 4" flange which i have now fitted but I've mad a temporary bung to continue using a hoover for now. Going to be connecting it up to a purpose made blasting extractor with a cyclone to reduce the waste inside the filters.
