Start stop system

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Purchased a brand new transit in July. After 5700 miles it's broke down. Fuel pressure regulator needed to change. Carried out the job at threemilestone vospers ford garage.

After that starts stop system not working anymore. Their answer is that the van is charging. Also mpg dropped from 34.5 to 30.5. anyone have any idea what can I do where can I get help please?

Thank you

Zoltan

Start/stop is a gimmick think on all manufacturer cars for cheaper road tax/to comply to emission standards.

On all cars i have on the drive in winter months where there is more strain on the batteries it doesn't work period and its to do with battery voltage.

As per MPG are you doing same journey carrying same load use to vehicle now driving it harder? I would not link start stop not working to lower fuel consumption. Saving is minimal and if car/van is stationary for more than 2 minutes engine auto starts anyway.
