Mk8 Fiesta Key Fob

Featured Replies

So I had a fall today went down like a sack of spuds

In doing so I've scratched the casing of my key fob, and wonder what options I have to do with it

1. Get a new one? Not sure from where and costs

2 Are there replacement casings so you can replace the insides into

Thanks for any help to get it looking good again

£76 for new key fob from ford

Then I guess lt needs to be programmed or is that something I can do?

And how do you do it

You can get new casings David.   Hope you've recovered from your fall.

Hi yes thanks just scraped and jarred, at least nothing broken and car fob is a small thing to what I could have done

Ford quoted £200 all in for replacement

AA £185

Ive looked on net ebay can't see any strip down videos etc to on these fobs to replace casings

I'd thought about getting one off ebay stripping parts off it and putting on mine

Found this video of how to strip it down looks to be straight forward

Bit of a crazy start but in depth and looks same as the Fiesta MK8 casing

just be careful not to overtighten screws plastic strips easily.

It looks the same as yours so don't see why your circuit board and transponder chip won't fit.

Dont throw your old key away till you've made sure every function of the fob works and the car starts.

There should be no programming required.

Thanks

Plan on using all the original parts, apart from the front panel that has the damage

But good points will definitely keep until all is good

Can you programme the key to the car yourself by a series of button presses in car etc?
