Temp Gauge Goes Down To Cold When Parked

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a 2018 Galaxy titanium x. When the misses  goes shopping. I stay in the car and try and keep warm. When We first park the heater is lovely a hot and the temp gauge about half. After 10mins or so the heater starts getting colder and ive notice the temp gauge slowly moves back to cold. As soon as we drive away the heater starts blowing out hot air and the temp gauge goes back to normal. Is there a fault or is this something that ford cars do.

You'd be surprised at some of the questions asked on here tbf, always worth checking the obvious!

Is it a diesel?  Engines are too efficient these days, they're not designed to spend ages idling and the temp will drop in the scenario.  You might be able to force the PTC heater on by upping the temp to max but I'm not sure on a Galaxy.

Yes deffo worth checking.

Yes its diesel

Thats fine if its ment to do it and there's nothing wrong. Then will just have to tell the misses to hurry up (or shop online) lol. I'm sure its only a recent thing but maybe not.
