Fiesta Mk7 Zetec S Heater Controls

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2009 Mk7 Zetec S Diesel....... It's fitted with digital climate control which I thought was a nice touch when purchasing the car especially as i'd never seen it fitted to others for sale when purchasing my car.

The issue I have is the heater turns on and off but no heat comes through the vents no matter which vent option is selected, when pressing the front or rear heated screens the buttons do not illuminate.

I've had a diagnostics completed and it came back suggesting the part it not compatible with the car and there is a communication issue.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is it possible the previous owner has fitted the wrong controls ?

Do i need to swap the digital climate controls to manual aircon controls?

Who carried out this 'diagnostics'?  Did the climate control ever work whilst owning the car? Obviously if it worked a couple weeks ago but doesn't now then there can't be a compatibility issue. If you've just bought the car within the last month from a dealer then they need to sort it out.

The climate control can't be easily retrofitted to a non-climate control car. The flaps are electronically operated where as the manual one is cable driven.

The diagnostic was by an independent garage using an AUTEL MK808 they didn’t charge me as was having other work done.

To be fair it hasn’t ever worked but didn’t realise until a while after purchasing the car.

Are the plugs on both units the same..... the person I brought the car from had tried various add ons from an ST like badges but all that’s gone now... I’ve almost got the car back to original other than the wheels and heater issue.

Just wondered if it was a half complete mod abandoned as it would be too difficult to complete?

Is there a fuse I can check for to determine whether this is a mod or genuinely how the car should be?
