Tdci's limp mode problems

Featured Replies

Hi guy's

Well after hours spent under the bonnet of my 2009 mk7 fiesta tdci trying to resolve a limp mode problem and replacing everything i could get my hands on i came across a comment on passion ford forum that suggested changing the glow plugs, i thought it was a crazy idea but decided to try it anyway.

10 months, £34 and 2-1/2 hours later they were changed. Took for a test drive and limp problem seems to finally be fixed, has anyone else god limp mode problem and not been able to sort it??

Cheers Deano.

When I first purchased my fiesta it went into limp mode about a week later. Luckily having bought it from a garage they repaired it by replacing the glowplugs. Seems to be a common failure with the tdci engines. Unfortunately for me, mine later developed injector issues and has never been the same since, even after replacing them.

Hey,

Try replacing the air temperature intake sensor.  Round about £15 from Amazon. With changing the glow plugs and the sensor mine hasn't missed a beat since.

Hope this helps

Regards D.
