LED rear light upgrade (2019my)

Featured Replies

Well i'll be picking up another 125 ST-Line this weekend (had 125 and 140 models before) as i'm "downgrading" from a VW T-Cross which has more creaks than an old folks home - so much for German build qualty

It has a few factory options (18"s, armrest, satnav) but like the previous 2 ST-Lines it has the halogen rear lights and i'm thinking of changing them to the LED ones.

Is it plug and play or is there wiring involved?

Does the car have to be coded after fitting or will they work straight off?

Has anyone got a set for sale?

I've read on here about people having problems with just swapping them.

Blimey, would have been cheaper to buy a ST-Line X instead 😮

I'm assuming the wiring harness to the rear is the same in all models as on non led cars there wouldn't be a wire to light up the inner side lights?

On a MK7 Golf i had i needed to run a wire from the outer to the inners on the tailgate when fitting led lights

A 2019 St line x doesnt come with LED lights either. It's something I've been looking at but it must a simple plug n play and no faffing around. At just under £600 for a set of rear lights ( from link provided) I dont think I'll bother.......

Oops my bad. Ignore what I posted. Thought the OP was about a focus not a fiesta 🙄

I'm sure I read on here that Ford were now fitting LEDs in normal lights somehow?  Can't remember if it was Focus or Fiesta though?  I guess Fiesta makes sense seeing as they couldn't even be bothered with projectors on the Focus!

I know i can fit led bulbs into the standard rear lights but fancied the signature style of the led units where inners as well as outers light up

I've confused this thread with another about headlights instead of rears, my bad!

  • 3 weeks later...

My 2020.25 Fiesta ST Line X has LED bulbs in the standard projector headlights and also LED rear lights with the signature styling.
