Battery symbol on display unit - what does it mean? Fiesta Zetect Eco Boost 2016.

Featured Replies

Hi all

I bought a Fiesta Zetec Eco Boost 2016 last week.

Can anyone tell me what this battery symbol means?

Photos attached!

Is it for the dashboard display unit? And if so, how do I charge it?

Or is it for the engine battery?

I've looked in the manual and can't find the answer.

The level of the battery symbol is going down so just a little worried.

Thanks a lot for any advice. First time I've posted on a forum for this kind of thing.

Thank

Jay

Have you got a mobile phone connected by bluetooth ? My 2017 Fiesta shows a symbol like that for my mobile phone battery level and phone signal level (which is linked by bluetooth) but I think on mine it's possibly at the top of the screen. My car seems able to connect to my phone from even 20 or 30 metres away when the phone is indoors and I'm sat outside in the car.

That does look like an auxiliary connection like a mobile phone unless you have kiers in your car.

It’s the phone battery, the 4 dashes are where the signal strength should appear

Talking of the display for the radio it reminds me of the thing that caught me out when I bought my Fiesta. I kept turning the radio off manually with the power button as I didn't know it goes off by itself when you open the door to get out. I kept taking the keys out the ignition then wondering why the radio was still on.

Definitely a mobile phone battery but it's strange why you haven't got the signal strength display.
