Could my Fiesta already have DAB?

Featured Replies

I have a 2015 1.25- has sync Bluetooth usb and aux in

looking to add dab and searching in the boot I see it has the amplifier already wired up

What are the chances the current head has DAB?
I do have forscan and an ELM but not used it yet - too scared 😱

I'd remove the stereo and see if you have 2 fakra plugs on the back for the aerial (black is for FM & AM then white is for DAB). If you do then just a case of activating  it with Forscan. If not then you need to change the radio to one with DAB.

Just because the aerial is in the boot doesn't mean you have a DAB radio. Activating it in Forscan may cause issues if the correct hardware isn't available.

For all we know the booster in the boot was fitted to every mk7 fiesta, not just those with DAB. The actual DAB aerial is part of the roof antenna.

Ok I’ve got the top part off but I’m struggling with the actual radio fascia - I’m 99% convinced I can feel 2 antenna on the rear left (as I’m looking at it)

I do have a Sony unit coming to me so maybe I should not be so eager and wait for that to come

thank you for time and assistance

The top part is usually the most difficult to remove! To remove the fascia you have to unclip the small trim below the hazard and door lock buttons. I'm sure there's loads of videos on YouTube on how to do it.

Should just be a Forscan activation then. When I retrofitted DAB I took a few pictures and described what I did to get DAB to work. You can find my post here;

I think I’ll await my Sony unit to do the alterations

I think I’ll need to adjust the config on the new screen as it’s a colour one

this is the kit I’ve bought
