Help changing MK6 ignition barrel

Tried YouTube finding help in changing MK6 2007 fiesta 1.25.

I've got to the point of removing plastic ring from around barrel , but can’t get barrel out, I noticed 2 holes top and bottom tried pushing something in them while ignition on (1) and wiggling barrel without joy.

do you need special tool to put in holes ? Should I be putting something in both holes at same time. 
 

photos will show where I’ve got too , any help would be really appreciated

    When you turn the key around to pos 1 push that bottom pin in and pull the key as you feel the pin move

    when replacing the barrel do you need to get the ecu reprogrammed ?

    had the same issue with mine so im replacing the barrel and switch

    If chAnging barrel you will have new key so you will need to do key programming unless you move the immobiliser chip from your old key to new key.

    You can buy a DIY barrel kit to build up with the right code to match your existing key.  Not the cheapest option but the least hassle in the long run.
