Door indicator stay on

Featured Replies

Hi I have a ford fiesta 2009 1.6 tdci titanam the door indicator stay on all the time the car is on can someone help please

A common culprit is the microswitch inside the door lock mechanism (mine is currently doing the same) and am waiting for a new lock unit to arrive in the post.  I bought a few more months operation out of mine by flooding it with WD40 and operating the locking jaws while the door was open repeatedly, but this was never going to work long term.

Lots of chatter on internet about how tricky the door card is to remove to get access to the lock, but this is one of the better videos I came across showing how to take the door card off (and yes, I know he's replacing the window regulator not a lock!).  It may be one of my jobs this weekend if the part arrives, so I may report back on how useful it actually is!

Sorry - Just noticed the year of car, so suspect you may have the next model up, don't know how relevant the video is, but suspect the underlying problem will be the same one
