Fiesta Mk7 Exterior Door Handle Sticks Open

Featured Replies

Hi,

Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

My passenger side exterior door handle sticks out when pulled to open and I'm stumped as to why.

When the door is opened normally the L-shaped part at the back of the handle (which goes into the door and is the image attached) slips off the ball 'hinge' which operates the door catch. This hinge snaps back into position and the L-shaped part then rests on it, which is what causes it to stick out as its got nowhere to go.

I can take the handle off and reset it, and everything looks fine. Nothing seems broken or missing. But I've no idea what the cause is to fix it.

Anyone else suffered the same and can point me in the right direction?
