I had this replaced at a garage after a diagnosis from AA after getting engine malfunction red triangle coming on then completely lost power.   A few weeks later it came on again with the same diagnosis.  The garage replaced the valve in case it was faulty. The yellow engine malfunction light is now on all the time although the garage cleared it..The fuel consumption has gone down and the engine sounds noisier.  The car is running ok though.  Could the light be nothing to worry about?

    Do you mean increased fuel consumption? But that combined with noisy engine plus engine management light? There's definitely a problem.

    You need to read the fault codes and come back (or take it to a garage to get repaired if you don't know anything about cars lol). It's anyone's guess as to whats wrong, it may be nothing to do with the EGR now.
