Central Locking Focus 2008

Featured Replies

Hi could you please help.......

I have a Focus 2008 TDCi Titanium. When I lock the car with the key fob then arm it with the second press. a horrible ctching/ ratchet type noise comes from the back passenger side.

Does anyone know what this might be and if its easy to fix?

thanks

I cant remember what it actually was, but it is something to do with the locking mechanism I think. It happened on my 2008 Focus and was fixed under warranty, but I dont have the service manual now as I have a new car, so I cant tell you what it exactly is.

yup! This happended to my front passenger door. All fixed under warranty. This is something to do with the deadlock mechanism. Replacement part required. Also for advice, sit inside the car, and deadlock it. Then try to unlock the car from inside on the front doors. The lock / unlock lever by the internal door handle should be moved inwards and not be able to unlock. Mine had a fault where once deadlocked you could unlock from inside!!

Hope the above makes sense!

Had my passenger side replaced last thursday...also a 2008 model.

Common fault apparently so the service chap told me....when deadlock activated

Under warrenty.
