Focus 1.8 tdci 2008 nonstart

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2008 1.8 tdci focus that is driving me mad

I bought as a non runner that I thought I could get running I have 5 hard fault codes in that no matter what I do they keep returning

P0069

p0641

p1288

p0095

p0110

so far I have changed the ecu bcm clocks and key with transponder with known good ones same faults occur

I have also disconnected every single connection to the engine components except unplugging the ecu it’s self and the same codes come up but no others I’m also getting a constant 12v feed to both fuel pump connections

one thing I do have is there is a grey connector in the battery junction box with four wires to a single connection a red wire going into the big block connector the other red wires is not connected to anything  other side of it there are two green wires with red stripe I have no idea where the non connected wire goes

Can anyone assist on where the red wires are meant to be thanks

Red and green wires going into a grey block...  Sounds like a car bomb!

Can you post a picture at all?  Are the loose wires damaged or do they look like they were never connected?

I have just spoken to the original owner apparently the loom was cut so they put a loom from a 56 reg tdci on it I’m thinking they are different and why I’m getting this problem

Ah, I see what you mean now.  Don't think I can offer any help unfortunately.  I would expect the looms to be different as 56 will be prefacelift and 2008 is probably facelift.

Sorted it got it running apart from a rough idle problem

it’s a 1.8 tdci engine from a 2007 fitted in a 2009 engine it’s self is the same but as I found out the pre and face lift engine looms are different that’s why it wouldn’t start I’ve also had to change the turbo actuator module now it runs and drives lovely just a rough idle can anyone assist with this do I need to change something else
