Featured Replies

Hi I'm new to this site and any help will be appreciated i have just bought today a 2011 fiesta zetec 1.2 for my daughter and on way home it started juddering and engine management light was coming on has anyone had these issues there was also a burning smell from rear of car and it sounded if it had an exhaust blow at rear

You need to read the codes. Alternatively you can throw a dart at my magicial dart board to find the fault for you...

Lol 😆 gonna get it scanned mate you know any decent apps for ford using Bluetooth reader

I've not used a bluetooth scanning tool for a long time, all the cheap ones are pretty much the same though and the apps only interpret the data so it's which ever app you find to look the nicest I guess.

The best scanning tool for Fords is called Forscan. It's free from their website (extended licence is done on 3-month trials you can keep renewing as you please). You need a Modified ELM327 adapter and a laptop to run Forscan, the one recommended by most on this forum is available from Tunnelrat, here.

Forscan will pull Ford specific codes and allows more programming options than generic tools. There's loads of info on here and on their website about available features. It's as close to dealer level diagnostics as you'll get without spending £500 on UCDS or offical Ford IDS.

It sounds like you should take it back to wherever you bought it from and ask them to sort it out as you should have some kind of warranty or rights by law to not buy defective car. Even if it was sold as seen you should still have some rights. Seems strange the car would have an issue the same day you bought it on the way home. Was it sold to you with known issues?

Hi mate its just been scanned saying misfire on cylinder 4 etc but I'll let him scan it and he can sort it out cheers for the replies much appreciated

You could be very lucky and find that it may well just be a defective spark plug or ht leads, coil pack that need replacing. It could however be a few other things, I have included a link to a site that has some information on this as I am not an expert.

Hope this helps. 👍

Thanks all help appreciated
