Timing belt

Featured Replies

Hello could anyone plz guide me: is Ford galaxy 2013 2 litre diesel Powershift is interference or non-interference engine?
As I was driving down at around 20mph and my galaxy gently came to a halt. Upon inspection we found that timing belt was not in a place although it was still intact.
It looks like water pump failed and it drag the timing belt from its place.
As I lost around a litre of coolent twice  in the last few days and I was getting some squeaking noise as well from engine bay. Anyway now water is full in the coolent tank but it has got dirty, I don't know why.
So if I put new timing belt and water pump, will it be OK?
When I heard squeaking noise I tried to calm it down by some wd40 and I sprayed it on my drive belt and around but actually it was waterpump.

Thanks for reading

Will be an interference engine. Did the engine stop due to overheating or timing belt slip on pulleys .

Is the dirt in coolant tank oily . If so the engine could have overheated and done damage to head gasket and or cyl head.

You need to check if the timing is still correct before removing belt. If it is , then it's worth putting new pump and belt on. If not then it's engine strip or replacement engine depending which you decide.

Thanks for ur reply. No engine wasn't overheating at all. It was running just normal. When AA man removed the top little cover, he could see, timing belt was half on and half out.

I would be getting the covers off then to see exactly what's going on.
