Cost for just Engine Oil and Filter Change at Ford Main Dealer

Featured Replies

How much can I expect to pay to "top up" my dealer visit to include an oil and filter change?

I've booked my MK8 Fiesta in for it's "interim Check" and MOT as it's three years old. The interim check and MOT are covered by Service Plan and from that I get Ford Assistance for a further 12 months.

I've asked the garage to also undertake an engine oil and filter change as I don't really want the oil in the car for two years as it's only doing short trips due to lockdown.

I'm only asking as the service desk who I booked with couldn't tell me.

I wonder if they will even want to, if it's not a book activity with a fixed charge.:

Do you know a good indy who would do it, as the genuine oil and filter is cheap on ebay.

Have to be honest I have this issue with my BMW, the dealers have no interest in an interim oil change, in BMW's case they work to the cars service requirements and that's it.

I've tended historically to be loyal to main dealers, as they offer a "one stop shop". In my head I think that 12months in the sump is long enough for a car in daily use.

in my experience with ford, they don't tend to actually do what they say they did in the service for instance my car supposedly had a brake fluid change by ford the year before i got the car (at that time it was my gran's car) it was pretty obvious they hadn't due to the brake fluid being near minimum and there being no leaks, and the pads hadn't worn enough for that amount of fluid to be in the calippers

If you are anywhere near Rugby I can recommend Independent Renault Services.  They're Renault specialists yes but they can do most things on most cars.

When I ordered my car the Ford price for the Convenience Check was £35 give or take a few pence. By the time I needed my first one the official price had risen substantially, but my dealer honoured the price originally quoted. I had an oil/filter change at the same time, the total came to just under £100.

Shortly due for my next check/MOT so will probably ask for an oil change again, particularly as the car's hardly moved this year. Doubt I'll get such a good deal again, though - I see the official Ford price for the check has now risen to £115!

If you know a Ford dealer who still offers the Rapid Fit service, then they'll do it for £50ish. I always get mine done at a Ford main dealership in Hinckley* tho' they have dropped the Rapid Fit name, (call it something else Fit now) advantage is, they're Ford trained mechanics and use Ford parts and oils
