Notchy gears

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a 2007 fiesta zetec s 1.6 petrol with the ib5 gearbox.

I have noticed that when I am changing gears there is a notchy/crunchy feeling in all gears but mainly 2nd and 3rd. It goes into gear no problem and I don't have any problems finding the gears or jumping out of gears but it's just a strange feeling in the gear lever. Thee feeling is still there with the engine off although not as bad.

If I put the clutch down and engage a gear it's notchy, if it take it out of gear and put it back in with the clutch still depressed it goes in smoothly with no crunchy feeling

I have tested another fiesta and that is so smooth compared too mine.

Any ideas?

Cheers
