Leak in boot

Featured Replies

I have a leak in my mk 8 Fiesta which I believe is entering the tyre well through the boot door. Water is visible under the plastic cover of the inside of the boot door and also drips through the catch/lock and in to the bottom part of the car.

Does anybody know how to remove the plastic cover which covers the inside of the boot door?

Which plastic cover . The inside of the door or the slam panel plastic cover around the catch?

Sorry. I mean the plastic on inside of the door. I can feel screws in the section where you put your hands to close the boot door but I can't find any other screws to take the whole of the plastic off the door. I'm wondering if it is held on with plastic clips which may snap if I put pressure on it to get it off.

As well as the screws these are held on with plastic clips - after removing the screws start at 1 corner and pull working your way around the panel

As the car is a 2018 if it's still in warranty let the dealer sort it

Thanks robbyvrs. I wanted to find out where the leak was coming from before I take it in, I don't want to be fobbed off.

I may have to leave it though if it is tied in with plastic clips as I don't want to break any!
