Any details on Ford future EVs? Fiesta/Focus/Puma

Featured Replies

Curious, can’t really find anything about any future EVs planned/in the pipeline for the UK/EU market, in terms of if they’ll do an EV fiesta/focus/puma. Anyone have better search skills or has seen info online?

I know the original focus EV was a bit of a damp squib, I’d definitely be tempted by a fiesta/focus EV when/if they do come out,

No, other than the deal they have with VW to share their EV platforms, I've seen nothing yet either.

Might be the intention not to bother with the current ranges and replace them with pure EVs. VW have not produced an all electric version of the new (Mk 😎😎😎😎Golf 😎and are steering  EV customers to their ID range.

Could be Ford do similar, but I'm just speculating there.

Cheers Eric. Had a dig around in some of Fords financial reports.

From the collaboration with Volkswagen as you mentioned :

Quote

In June, Ford and Volkswagen finalized agreements that expanded their global alliance, leveraging complementary strengths across an expected combined 8 million commercial and electric vehicles, and midsize pickup trucks. The alliance emphasizes innovation and choice for their respective customers of commercial vehicles and high-performing EVs:

• A medium pickup truck engineered and built by Ford

• A city delivery van developed and made by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and a 1-tonne cargo van created by Ford, and

• A highly differentiated Ford EV for Europe based on Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Drive, or MEB, toolkit

Looks like they are hoping to have an F-150 EV by 2022 and correct me if I am wrong but the commercial vehicles are the E-Transit for Ford? Not sure if the city delivery van for VW is the ID Buzz?

Can't seem to find anything anywhere on the highly differentiated Ford EV they mention.

Could be - I spotted this but still haven't seen anything on an electric Fiesta or Focus equivalent.

Looks like we have some new info after Ford's announcement of going EV.

Looks like their next fiesta/focus car will simply be a mini Mach E

Tbh it looks no worse than the lime green Puma ST I spotted in Stoneacres showroom window the other day (though that's not saying much !😀)

Looks like we were right about using the VW EV platform though. Problem is the VW platform is basically Focus size, though I believe they are working on a smaller one for an electric Polo equivalent. Ford would need to access that (or build their own) to directly replace the Fiesta with an EV.
