Ford Galaxy Tailgate latch fault

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a MKII (2013) galaxy and the boot has suddenly refused to open.  I have done the trick of cutting a small hole in the plastic surround on the latch and I can open it manually but the main problem still remains.  I have tried the following:

Checking wires in the gaiter at the top of the boot (no change)

Tried fuse in glove compartment (no change)

Tried fuse in boot (no change)

Tried replacing latch (no change)

I have tested the voltage on the latch itself and get 0v on pin 1, 0.6v on pin 2, 12v when latch is closed on pin 3, 12v when latch is open on pin 4.

Only thing I can think of is a wire break somewhere but I cannot find it anywhere, any suggestions would be really appreciated.
