Which plant is that?

I Google mapped the Saarlouis plant last week...I knew the factory was big but the amount of new cars hanging around outside was surprising, they're literally everywhere!!

Probably Dearborn.

Yes, with the railway freight cars in the background, including a Union Pacific boxcar and the shunting locomotive being used by Ford, definitely in North America.

Ironically the shunter (or switcher in the States) looks like a product of EMD (General Motors locomotive division).

You one of those geeky train spotter's? 😂😂😂

Got some old shunters next to where I work. Will take a photo so you can identify them.

Been making transits there for over 10 years.

Yes, they fully transferred UK Transit production to Turkey about 6/7 years ago when the Southampton plant closed. A chap we know was made redundant from there at that time but he was ok as he'd been there years and was nearing retirement anyway, so got a very good payout. Sad to see the end of Ford vehicle manufacture here though.

Check out flushing in Belgium. Store a few there before we get them in UK.

They keep a few indoors too. Mainly old stock . 😂😂😂😂😂

Fair point!

I'm amazed we buy that many cars tbh...and where are all the old ones?  Must take longer to depollute and dismantle them than build them!

Though I always think the same watching Gregg Wallace doing the Factory programmes...  As if we eat 50,000 cherry bakewells an hour...

Managed to find this about the Ford production plant .
After Ford acquired the plant it took nearly 12 years to complete ,  it seems they bought in raw materials and built the vehicles from scratch.

I was taking about the plant in turkey.

most car makers did build from scratch when they first started, more recently they outsource of have multiple smaller facilities doing different things.
