Streetka heater goes cold when revs low

Featured Replies

Hi, our Streetka heater works fine while going along a dual carriageway with revs higher, but goes cold when slowed down or at traffic lights for example. When we are on our way again with revs 2500+ the heater warms up again. I've checked the water level in the reservoir and it's fine.  What can it be please??  Help appreciated. I think the heating system is similar to Fiesta so hopefully you can help me. Thanks Colin

I have seen this before and suspect that the heater control tap which is in fact a solenoid valve is faulty.

Often is that but it may be a good idea to change the thermostat. If the car is taking time to warm up or is a bit thirsty, That is where I'd look.

My old Ka was stuck on cold, was the solenoid, unfortunately it was the sills that let her down, bit fiddly to replace but should be able to get from a scrap dealer
